443 was the section we were in when I took Billy to see the Redskins play the Eagles this past Sunday. It was also the chant that we heard over and over from some of the season ticket holders in the section.

Two days before the game, I made the statement:

Bill knows if he brings cold weather gear to the Skins game, it will be hot. If he bring his camera, it will pour, and both will cause a rip in the cosmic fabric.

Well I did both and was right about the rip. Just as we were getting ready to leave, my car battery decided to call it quits. On the way to pick up Elizabeth and Ryan, there was an accident on 95 that caused a big backup so I had to take a detour to get to their house. Thank goodness a rip like this can cause good as well as evil and the sun came out when we got to DC. Of course it was bitter cold and the the hot chocolate machine was acting up so it was actual “not cold” chocolate… with no lid. But hey, we had great time and the people in our section were awesome to hang around!

This past weekend we went up to see my nephew at VMI. As it turns out, Vice President Dick Cheney was there to view the parade. Needless to say, security was a bit tight.

After the parade, we went to watch VMI take on Liberty. VMI had solid 2nd and 3rd quarters to make the game close, but in the end, Liberty was too much and finished with a 38-26 victory.

The kids of some friends of ours play little league football. A couple of weeks ago, we were able to attend their games.

Since football season has started, I thought now would be a good time to dig up these pictures from when we went up to a VMI football game last fall. After watching the parade, we went down and hung out and let the kids play on the Marine Obstacle Course, and then went to the game.
