443 was the section we were in when I took Billy to see the Redskins play the Eagles this past Sunday. It was also the chant that we heard over and over from some of the season ticket holders in the section.

Two days before the game, I made the statement:

Bill knows if he brings cold weather gear to the Skins game, it will be hot. If he bring his camera, it will pour, and both will cause a rip in the cosmic fabric.

Well I did both and was right about the rip. Just as we were getting ready to leave, my car battery decided to call it quits. On the way to pick up Elizabeth and Ryan, there was an accident on 95 that caused a big backup so I had to take a detour to get to their house. Thank goodness a rip like this can cause good as well as evil and the sun came out when we got to DC. Of course it was bitter cold and the the hot chocolate machine was acting up so it was actual “not cold” chocolate… with no lid. But hey, we had great time and the people in our section were awesome to hang around!

We can’t believe that you are 9 today. We are so proud of you. You are an awesome son and big brother. Keep up the amazing work. We love you even more.

This week Billy was picked as “Student of the Week” for his class. A child is picked every week in each class based on behavior and attitude. The students selected get to each lunch with their teachers and the principal.

Congrats Billy!

Tonight Maw and Mike came over to help celebrate. Mike was wearing his Jason mask and proceed to scare both kids and adults as we went walking around the neighborhood.

This weekend, for Billy’s soccer team (called the Barracudas), we organized a crazy hair and face game for our team. Here are a couple of shots taken by our team mom. The funny part was the other team’s reaction when we lined up at the beginning of the game. One of the kids muttered “What the…”.

A few weeks ago, we took the boys to Maymont park to play with my new lens. Unfortunately it was drizzling and I didn’t want to risk taking out my camera so we used the point-n-click instead. Of course the sun came out when we were at the farthest point from the car.

After Billy finished soccer camp, he received a couple of tickets to see the Richmond Kicker’s play. I took both boys to the game and had better weather for playing with my new lense.

We took Billy and Martin to one of the local sports parks where my nephew, Brad, works. Billy tried the batting cage (slow pitch softball) for the first time. He did pretty well for someone who has never had to swing at a softball before.

Billy and I went to see the Richmond Kickers play against Bermuda last weekend. We met Matthew (one of Billy’s friends) and his dad, Pete there. Other than 45 minute rain delay, it was a really fun game. Richmond won 4-1.
