Today Martin went on the potty for the first time. For those of you who do not have kids, this is a *big* milestone as it’s the first step in getting away from changing diapers!
I can’t believe my oldest is now eight years old. It goes by so fast!
Tuesday night, in the middle of the third quarter, Billy scored his first soccer goal. In the league that Billy plays in, they use full size goals since these are six year olds, I’ve been trying to show them that if the get the ball more that four feet off the ground, there isn’t many goalies that will be able to stop it. In the middle of the third quarter, Billy stole the ball and went down the left side of the field. He cut to the inside of one defender and went straight for the goal. About 20 feet out, with only the goalie in his way, he kicked one about six feet high that went right over the goalies head.
This weekend we celebrated Martin’s first birthday. We went out to dinner Friday night and then had the family over Saturday afternoon for a party.

When Billy decided that he was ready to walk, he just did. Until last week, Martin seemed to take the approach that just because he could walk (about a month now), didn’t mean he would. Why walk when you can crawl twice as fast? As you can see from the easter pics, he finally decided to take the plunge and is now a full time walker.
When Martin woke up this morning, we noticed that he now has his first tooth.
Last night, Billy learned how to tie his shoes. It was fun to watch him figure it out.
